Manuel POULAIN is a shrimp aquaculture expert. He has a technical expertise on the each different steps of shrimp production, since the in-situ broodstock production, hatchery and on-growing.

Ten years of experiment throughout the world on different type of structures of shrimp farming and with various species make of Manuel POULAIN an expert in the installation and the management of production facilities.

Manuel POULAIN's experience is mainly centered on the production of broodstock in captivity, the programs of domestication and the production of disease free post larvae in bio-safe system.

He started as technician by supervising the intensive breeding of shrimp broodstock with AQUACOP in French Polynesia. He then worked as project/production manager for projects in various countries as USA and Mexico (Super Shrimp), Seychelles (SMB) and Australia (Pacific Reef Fisheries).

It began its professional career in 1996 as biologist in charge of the peneid shrimp reproduction unit and by supervising the intensive broodstock production unit in AQUACOP in French Polynesia. Then, from 1998 to 2001, he worked as project manager in charge of the development of shrimp broodstock intensive production units (Litopenaeus stylirostris and L vannamei) for company SUPER SHRIMP GROUP (San Diego, the USA) and had developed for this group three different broodstock production units in Mexico City: Mazatlán, El Golfo de Santa Clara and Ensenada. From 2002 to 2003, he was production manager in charge of the domestication program (Penaeus monodon) on the SMB shrimp farm, Seychelles where he also supervised the two hatcheries. Since 2004, it designed and managed the center of captive broodstock production and the domestication program (Penaeus monodon) of PACIFIC REEF FISHERIES in Australia

In parallel, Manuel POULAIN carried out several missions as expert as site validations, feasibility studies; design studies, technical audit of shrimp hatcheries, etc…
