Hervé Lucien-Brun has technical and commercial expertises in shrimp farming as well as shrimp processing units and commercialisation procedures.

Hervé Lucien Brun’s experience in aquaculture dates back to the beginning of the 1980s when he was involved in lobster, shellfish (abalone and scallops) and tilapia farming, but it is more specifically in the shrimp farming sector that he has accumulated his widely acknowledged renown.

Over the past few years he worked with AQUASERVICE and SEPIA, two leading French aquacultural engineering companies. He was responsible for setting up, implementation and technical management of hatcheries, ongrowing farms and shrimp processing plants. He also carried out quality control missions and sought suppliers for both exporters and European importers. These mission involved working in most Latin American countries and also South East Asia, New Caledonia, Madagascar, Africa and the Middle East.

Before this, Hervé Lucien-Brun worked for MACROBIO, a large shrimp hatchery in Ecuador where he actively participated in the design and was consequently in charge of technical management for several years. After a short stay back in France he later returned to Ecuador to take up the position of Technical manager of a shrimp farm.

Hervé Lucien-Brun’s expertise in quality control is mainly focused on the processing of whole shrimp for the European market.

He is the author of various articles on shrimp production published in the specialist press in magazines such as « Aquaculture », « The World Aquaculture Society » magazine, « Advocate » issued by Global Aquaculture Alliance, an international association for professionals. He has taken part in numerous international symposiums on subjects such as shrimp production, aquaculture markets, quality control and technology transfer …
