Guirec DEWAVRIN is an expert in marine fish farming. After more than 24 years of professional experience, he is one of the pioneers who developed the marine finfishes hatchery for seabass (Dicentrarctus labrax), sea-breams (Sparus aurata) and turbots (Psetta maximus) in Europe.
He initially worked, from 1980 to 1984, in various hatcheries of the South of France, as "LES POISSONS DU SOLEIL", the MARINE STATION OF SÈTE, DELTA FISHERIES and SCORSA. From 1984 to 1989, he was responsible of the sea-bass, sea-breams and turbots rearing at the IFREMER station of Palavas. From 1989 to 1994, he was technical manager of the hatchery of P2M LABRAX in Monaco where he was responsible for the construction of the embarked hatchery on board a 16500 tons cargo liner, development the industrial stage of the hatchery, recruitment, training and framing of the personnel and production management (up to 12 million of fingerlings per year). From 1995 to 2000, he was technical manager of the FERME MARINE DU DOUHET (FMD) on Oleron Island (France), where he was in charge of the modernization of the facilities, of the management of the team, development of the ISO standards and the production, up to 18 million of fingerlings per year. From 2000 to 2003, he was manager of AQUASTREAM in Ploemeur in Morbihan, in France, where he was in charge of the creation of the company (technical and biological), of the technical design and management of the building site, the negotiations with the suppliers, of the recruitment, the formation and the framing of the personnel and the installation of S.P.F. standards (Spécific Pathogen Free)
Since 2003, Guirec DEWAVRIN has founded his own structure (AQUABIOTOP)works as consultant in "Total Quality". Within this framework, it intervenes on 30 European marine finfishes hatcheries of Portugal in Turkey. He is a specialized trainer on hygiene and quality in aquaculture. It sets up strict procedures of hygiene for the marine fish aquiculture and the establishment of all the procedures of quality
